Karishma Tanna and Hansal Mehta’s Scoop win it big at the Busan Film Festival

Hansal Mehta’s Scoop won Best Asian TV Series and Best Actress for Karishma Tanna at the Asia Contents Awards & World OTT Awards 2023 in Busan, South Korea. At the ceremony, the OTT series received nominations in these two categories. Hansal shared the exciting news on his X account.

Hansal Mehta wrote on his X, formerly known as Twitter, “We won! Best Asian TV Series at Busan. #BIFF23.” The director also wrote in a separate post, “Two nominations and two awards for #ScoopOnNetflix at @busanfilmfest – Best Asian Series and Best Lead Actress for incredible @KARISHMAK_TANNA. Karishma Tanna, who was in attendance at the ceremony, entered the spotlight to accept her prize. She was seen in a photo accepting her award on Hansal’s post. She looked lovely at the ceremony wearing a glittering black sari.

In the official post on X, the festival page wrote, “The 2023 Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards, the representative content event of the Busan International Film Festival that awards excellent TV, OTT, and online content across Asia, has announced this year’s winners and winners. Congratulations!”

Scoop, a criminal investigative drama based on Jigna Vora’s book Behind Bars in Byculla, tells the narrative of journalist Jagruti Vora (played by Karishma Tanna). Following the Chhota Rajan gang’s murder of a fellow journalist in 2011, Jagruti’s inquiry into the killing quickly results in her being detained and wrongly convicted of the crime.
